- Due to hurricane damage Coyaba is in the process of rebuilding and will open early months of 2006 - Located on Grenada, the Caribbeans Isle of Spice, Coyaba Beach Resort features all the requisite elements for a classic island holiday. Just steps away from the beach, the resort features all manner of watersports - beautifully funished accommodations - fresh island-influenced cuisine and friendly, personalized service. Set on world-famous Grand Anse Beach, Coyaba is situated in a flowering garden of tall palm trees and tropical plants, between the clear Caribbean Sea and lush mountains. The picturesque harbor of St. Georges can be seen across Grand Anse Bay. Coyabas spacious open-air lobby highlights original native art, against a backdrop of golden bamboo walls, beamed ceilings and terra-cotta tiles. Seven buildings, each with 10 guest rooms, surround the resorts outdoor pool, which features Grenadas only swim-up bar. -HISTORY- Built by the Cherman Family, the resort was completed in only nine months, opening in August 1987 with 30 guests rooms. First year occupancy necessitated an almost immediate expansion of 10 additional guest rooms, as well as expanded dining and entertainment facilities and poolside. Eight years later, another 30 rooms added on 3 1/2 acres of adjoining land. At the same time, the existing 40 room were refurbished and all central facilites were expanded and upgraded.

    Coyaba is situated in a five and half acre garden of palm trees, hibiscus, frangipani and bougainvillea. It is one of only a hand full of hotels located directly on world-famous Grand Anse Beach.

    Restaurants  Grenadian specialties such as Curried Lambie Hog Island mark the menu in Coyaba's two dining venues. The Pepperpot, a casual open-air dining room, serves breakfast and dinner; the pool-side Arwakabana features lunch specialties. Guests enjoy cocktails, including the Coyaba Colada and Coyaba Special, in the Pepperpot bar and at the swim-up bar.
